Chemical Management Officer

Job description

Maintain and update the chemical database to ensure accurate and up-to-date information on all chemicals used in the facility
Collect, review, and input chemical safety data sheets (SDS/MSDS) into the system
Ensure all chemical data complies with relevant regulations and company standards (e.g., GHS, REACH, OSHA)
Coordinate with procurement, production, and safety departments regarding chemical usage, labeling, and documentation
Monitor chemical inventory levels and assist in proper storage and classification
Support internal audits and regulatory inspections by providing chemical data and documentation
Generate reports related to chemical usage, compliance, and inventory
Assist in training or providing guidance to relevant staff regarding chemical handling and database use

Job requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
Experience in chemical data management or chemical inventory systems is an advantage
Familiarity with safety regulations and chemical standards (e.g., SDS, GHS, REACH)
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and database management software
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
